Call for SIR Board Nominations

The SIR Board of Directors (Board) is pleased to make a call for nominations for several positions on the Board for the 2020 – 2021 year. This is an excellent opportunity for insurance professionals to increase their visibility as a thought-leader, represent their brands in supporting an insurance industry non-profit professional association, network with leading carriers and solution providers, and hone skills outside their primary function.

SIR is looking for insurance industry leaders who want to make a material difference increasing membership, awareness and engagement. Board members are expected to attend up to six meetings per year (primarily remotely), with occasional calls in between meetings. Board members often lead or participate in committees as well.

SIR Breast Cancer Fundraiser in Honor of Carol Smith

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Smith, a Society of Insurance Research Warrior. Carol passed away on May 6, 2020. You can view the Carol's obituary here. Carol has been a relentless champion and has provided amazing support for the SIR since joining the SIR board in 2010. Anyone that has attended an SIR event undoubtedly has a Carol story to tell. She is that loved. Read Fox 8 news story here.

The SIR has set up a Metastatic Breast Cancer donation page in Carol’s name to help continue Carol’s fight to find a cure for Metastatic Breast Cancer. We will be donating $1,000 in Carol’s name and will match up to another $500 in donations made by SIR members and friends. If you would like to donate to help keep Carol’s fight against this awful disease going, please donate today!
