The Society of Insurance Research (SIR) is a boutique association serving the needs of research professionals within insurance carriers. The last several weeks have been unprecedented, as we’ve all been trying to filter though the influx of information on COVID-19 and its impact on business and economy. The following resource represents an aggregation of useful research sites. Most, but not all, of these are free resources. SIR members have contributed to this master list.

Tableau is aggregating COVID-19 dashboards via this site. Find a dashboard specific to the economy or a certain geographic area. Includes links to the Johns Hopkins data for your own data viz.
COVID-19 Policy Alliance (MIT) Data Tools
The interactive map represents the relative risk profile of counties or ZIP Codes within each state. Site enables states to identify the highest risk facilities and localities—those with clusters of individuals over 65 or with relevant health issues. Watch a webinar or review the slide deck.

ECONOMIC IMPACT
Experian Risk Simulator
Experian has developed a risk simulator program. The more advanced functionality is fee-based, but they have surfaced access to the dashboard here. Tool allows you to simulate impact scenarios down to the state level.
FRED Blog
The Federal Reserve of St Louis’ FRED team maintains a blog that is a great resource on economic data. The FRED data dashboards can help you track the US economy and financial markets at this time.
Moodys – Coronavirus Coverage
Register onsite and select content available to market participants. Site includes research, digital content and events. Use the “Follows” functionality on the topic page to receive email alerts as new content publishes.
St. Louis Fed’s Research Division – COVID-19 Research
Access work being produced by economists and staff, including analyses, daily updates and projections. Site also links to a timeline of related events and policy responses.

Insurance Coverage Law Center (fka FC&S Legal)
Part of the National Underwriter collection of tools, ICLC covers the legal issues around COVID-19 coverage. Includes case law analysis, legislative and regulatory updates as well as jury verdict information.
Lumesis, a firm focused exclusively on the municipal market, launched a free service that surfaces a consolidated list of all continuing disclosure filings made to the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) that relate to the COVID-19 pandemic, along with a link to each filing. This free service is available on the Lumesis website and will be updated three times daily during each business day (9 am, 2pm and 7 pm EST).

Wolters Kluwer – COVID-19 State & Federal Compare Smart Chart
Tool is updated 3X/week on Monday-Wednesday and Friday. Compare laws across jurisdictions. Information on 6 topics in Smart Chart: Labor & Employment, Health and Infectious Disease, Banking & Finance, Tax and Securities and Executive Orders and proclamations. NAIC State Regulatory Actions
The NAIC has aggregated state insurance bulletins and alerts, a variety of NAIC resources from various working groups and research bodies as well as other helpful resources from around the web.
