In accordance with its stated mission, and as part of its ongoing public relations activities within the insurance industry, The Society of Insurance Research has occasion to prepare and distribute periodic news releases to the print and electronic media.  For the most part, such releases relate to one or more of the following subjects.
Upcoming S.I.R. Events – Information concerning Time, Location and Topics for scheduled Conferences and Workshops.

Post Event Coverage -  Summary of significant  information, data, statements or points made by speakers and panelists at such events.

Research Findings - Results of any internal research projects, which may have broad general interest beyond the membership of the society.

General -  Copies of other news releases which may be of interest to S.I.R. members.

Recent Releases

A 2006 survey of SIR Members indicated that while a majority are involved in Property & Casualty insurance, a significant percentage work with Life & Health business. Seventy per cent of respondents reported that competitive intelligence (CI) is at least part of their job responsibility, and nearly half reported involvement in Market Research. While both CI and other research practitioners identified limited budget or limited resources as their leading challenge, the great majority reported their budget had either remained the same or increased in 2006. See the linked summary report for other insights into the composition and perspectives of the Members.
