SIR 41st Annual Conference

The Society of Insurance Research is very pleased to announce that the keynote speaker at this year’s Annual Conference, which will be in Long Beach, California October 16th – 19th, will be Brian Sullivan.

Most industry professionals on the P&C side will immediately recognize Brian’s name as the Editor and Publisher of the Auto Insurance Report and Property Insurance Report, and chairman of a very successful annual conference for each of those businesses.

Brian is famous for his penetrating insights and his willingness to candidly speak his mind, so he is in great demand as a speaker to industry groups and to the management teams of major carriers.

We are extremely happy to have Brian Sullivan involved in the SIR’s 41st Annual Conference. Registrations will open very soon, so watch for the announcement by email.

You will want to register for the conference & make your hotel reservation promptly, because with Brian on the agenda we expect to set another attendance record again this year! In recent years we have regularly sold out the room block at our conference hotels and that will be especially likely this year.

New research at the SIR portal

If you are an SIR Member, please check out material added to the “SIR Featured Research” tab of www.sirportal.org since our last eBulletin. As you know, the Members-only portal brings industry news and tools to your desktop in real time, and this year the Society has also begun using the portal to bring you white papers and reports from our Members and other partners. We have also linked presentations from recent SIR conferences so there is less need to navigate the old Members Only web pages.

If you have not already done so, you will want to customize your personal view of the portal to emphasize your particular lines of business. You can also import your saved “favorites” from your web browser and organize them to be available at a glance on the “My Links” tab of your portal. A little time invested in this process up front will pay real dividends when you are able to keep the portal open all day and move quickly among your on-line resources without clicking through a folder tree or an unorganized list!

If you have any questions
